A few joyous moments with our kiddos. First, our little man: He's a character! Mom is hanging in there with some days better than others. These are some great ones!
"Chewing chewing chewing..." Now who's ready for solids??? EARLY!
We started solids at about 5 months and a week or so, for obvious reasons. The little guy still doesn't have a tooth in his mouth, but he sure wishes he did. He chews on everything and is in a constant state of drool. He is mellow and happy. Not an overachiever though. He hates to "roll over" and will only roll from tummy to back if put on a pillow..hahaha a softy like his mama. He does hold himself up and kicks like a freak of nature. He loves standing and grabbing everything in his path. Favorite grab: Sister's hair. He loves it!!
Speaking of the Sister... Sophie has become a little girl. OVERNIGHT!!! She's in pre-school and loves to show us what she knows! We have a "special" video that is in honor of our Gildersleeve family. We hope you all enjoy!!! It will bring back fond memories, I hope!!!! : )
We have only had the piano in the house for an HOUR.. Seriously, it's 10/23/11 and it was finally delivered an hour ago after it's long stay at the "spa", where my friend Tim, (the Piano Tuner) gently worked on it's inner and outer parts to bring back the strings and workings from nearly 40 years without tuning. It will be a work in progress, even now...but he did a wonderful job. The wood was gently cleaned and the brass was polished! He said there was one place that he struggled to get clean and he wasn't sure why. Only one piece of wood was dirtier than the rest. It was the left side of the keyboard wall. I knew it was the place where generations of my family touched as they walked into the 518 Maryland Avenue Home, turned left and entered the Gildersleeve living room. It was also the place (after mom reminded me) where Jean and Kirk would put their hand to lean over and change the thermostat for the house, which was above the piano. As you can see on the video, it has a similar space to live in our home.
Sophie is completely in love! We hadn't told her we were getting a piano. When it came home, she immediately sat down and began to sing and play. She is her mama's girl! : )
