Do you remember when?????

Upon the birth of our son, Jack, and the celebration of Sophie's third birthday, I decided to look back at my journey as a mother.  I hadn't viewed Sophie's baby pictures since last year. My struggles had been too painful, and looking at baby pictures seemed to only remind me of what we were facing at the time. I had decided to just keep my eyes forward for a while, until today.  As I opened the files of "Sophie's Birth" pictures, my heart both fell and lifted all at the same time.  I was taken aback by the little creature I laid eyes on.  How did she/we survive it all?
Do you remember this baby?  This precious and fragile girl with the now obviously swollen head? I didn't see it then.  Now, however, with hindsight.....I'm floored.

This poor thing with a look of pain on her sweet face and swollen little eyes.
And now we have.....

Humor
Quirkiness

Exuberance
A Gentle Heart
 Whimsey
 Joy
and Love...an amazing amount of love.

update!

First off, not a lot of time to post.

Secondly, although under sad circumstances, I've had the chance to reconnect with blog friends/relatives and was inspired to get a post up!  Thanks to the Walls extended family for being kindred spirits, for babying my babies with like minds, and for allowing us to be part of your already overwhelming day.

On to major events:
Jason's Grandad passed away.  A very sad day for the Lucas family.  He was my husband's best friend.  It's so sad to lose a best friend.

Jason's Grandma Norma lost her brother, Stanley (Cub). Although I never met him, I've heard many stories and seen the amazing result of his parenting displayed by his lovely daughters and my sister.  He struggled with illness and is no longer in pain.  That is a good thing, but I know he will be so missed by his children and family.

Sophie has celebrated the Big 3 birthday. (Pictures coming soon)  Mama has also celebrated the not-so-exciting 4-1 birthday. (my husband is in denial and calls me 37 all the time).  Finally, Jack is nearly 3 months old.(12 weeks on the 19th of July)
Time is just flying by.

Abby Nenny visited and earned the title "Baby Whisperer".  She left too soon, but has decided to RETIRE!!! After teaching 40+years,  it is well deserved!!! Now, watch her go and change her mind!!! She's a dedicated and tireless worker. A trait our family takes pride in, however, it nearly drives us straight to the grave.  We simply dont say no.

...and now for pictures
