update on the previous mentioned update!

The hen pictured below...the one that has caused me such frustration....

Is a cotton-pickin' ROOSTER.

Mean as a snake.  Lunges at me. ( I am most often chasing it out of our garage with some sharp pointy object like a broom.

I have to say that I laughed (then laughed some more) over my husband's denial.  "It's a hen!  We are going to have eggs, I promise!  It will be worth the mess!"

Ummmm no, now we just have a crowing obnoxious bird that won't roost and travels to the neighbor's yard every day.  I could tell that chicken was a boy bird.  He was WAY too hot-headed to be a Girl! : )

So, we have to "return" the bird and exchange it for a new chick.  Yes, apparently in Grafton, you can return livestock.   And yes, I told hubby we were not going to "exchange" but hold off for a bit.  The verdict is still out on his final decision, but my guess is I'm coming home to a little chirper again real soon.
