The hen pictured below...the one that has caused me such frustration....
Is a cotton-pickin' ROOSTER.
Mean as a snake. Lunges at me. ( I am most often chasing it out of our garage with some sharp pointy object like a broom.
I have to say that I laughed (then laughed some more) over my husband's denial. "It's a hen! We are going to have eggs, I promise! It will be worth the mess!"
Ummmm no, now we just have a crowing obnoxious bird that won't roost and travels to the neighbor's yard every day. I could tell that chicken was a boy bird. He was WAY too hot-headed to be a Girl! : )
So, we have to "return" the bird and exchange it for a new chick. Yes, apparently in Grafton, you can return livestock. And yes, I told hubby we were not going to "exchange" but hold off for a bit. The verdict is still out on his final decision, but my guess is I'm coming home to a little chirper again real soon.
