Change of Scenery...part 3

OK folks. We need some quick ideas for this area of the house. we asked them not to finish the front porch/entrance way because we knew we wanted to stone around the door, on the front of the house and around the bottom.(where the black paper is plus the bottom area) We would need to have a more solid foundation than a wooden porch. Now what???? BTW...there is no fill dirt there yet either, since we have no clue what to do for this part.

We will be having a deck in our future...but who knows when the finances will bring that to us. We did get the back of the house filled in with dirt! Whew!!! One door I can almost reach without a 12 foot ladder.

...and WE HAVE A HOUSE!!!!!!!! .....We need ALOT of fill dirt. Otherwise, you will need to pole vault to the front door. No pictures inside because we aren't allowed in until they are finished with construction. There is a small square of siding on the front so you can get an idea of the color. it's a mossy green.

Time for a Change of Scenery!

I was tired of looking at my feet in the previous post. So, I thought I'd share our basement instead. It's a poured concrete basement. That's why there is all kinds of styrofoam on the walls. Essentially, we will be living in an igloo cooler when it is all said and done. Jason was big on efficiency when designing our features in the new home. Some include endless water tank, external wood burning furnace as a heat source (don't worry...I insisted on a regular ol' furnace for the days this mama is too cold to throw some wood on the fire), radient floor heating, and insulated siding to name a few. We should not have to pay a utility bill at this rate!!!! Also, heating with wood/water is much more eco friendly than fossil fuel. : ) Our house is scheduled to be "set" this week. Wish us luck!!!! We could use a little good karma, right???

OK....

This is a post for my family. It is election day. I am home. I am achy! It is raining.
So, I have been waking up with these TERRIBLE pains in my heels. They ache so bad it feels like walking on gravel with bare feet. My incredibly smart seesta said that was something she has experienced and that I need to put on tennies IMMEDIATELY when I get up. NEVER WALK SOCK FOOTED!!!!!! Especially on tile/hardwood/etc....aka, my current house.
So, this morning I stepped out of bed in my bathrobe and put on my tennies. I was wearing socks from last night...Didn't even pay attention to them.
When I sat down to have my morning coffee, this is what I saw.



This is a post for my Gildersleeve CLAN. (My mother's family)....Any guesses who my feet look like???? Boy, I sure miss my Grandma Jean and her men's t'shirt, ratty bathrobe, men's socks and tennies. We love you grandma! It was about this time 2 years ago, when I was 7 months pregnant with Sophie, that we all said good bye to this amazing woman. I'm glad to see I have a little of her still inside me.
